Meet the people who have come from Finland

Tuuli Kaskinen
Tuuli Kaskinen is a Project Director at Demos Helsinki. Demos Helsinki is Finland’s only independent think tank. They work with companies, NGOs and Finnish ministries, the parliament, municipalities and other organizations of the public sector that are willing to widen their perspective and renew themselves. The starting point of the collaboration is acting, learning and creating together.

Mikko Myllykoski
Mikko Myllykoski is the experience director of Heureka, The Finnish Science Centre. Mikko is a historian by training and has worked in interactive exhibition development since 1990. Heureka's exhibitions travel worldwide: they've been seen by 18 million people in 25 countries on four continents.
Right now Heureka is preparing a futures exhibition "20X0" and a version of the immersive "Klima X" exhibition about climate change.  Mikko has a company bicycle and so far he has pedaled more than around the world while commuting his almost daily 20 miles.

Aleksi Neuvonen
The special interests of Aleksi delve into urban development, low carbon society, democracy and participation and theory of foresight. In addition to his work at Demos Helsinki, Aleksi advances these topics in Dodo and at the Aalto University, School of Art and Design, where he lectures on futures studies. Aleksi has been with Demos Helsinki since its foundation in 2005.

Previously Aleksi has been working as researcher for Finland Futures Research Centre, VTT Group for Technology Studies and University of Helsinki, Department of Philosophy and as independent journalist and writer.

In addition to Demos Helsinki reports Aleksi has edited with Roope Mokka "We Were Consumers - Four Stories On Year 2023" (In Finnish, Olimme kuluttajia - Neljä tarinaa vuodesta 2023). He has given hundreds of lectures both in Finland and abroad. In 2007 Aleksi was part of the team of "Towards City 2.0" which was awarded in the ideation competition of Greater Helsinki Vision 2050.

Sirpa Pellinen
Sirpa Pellinen is the Chief Communication Officer from the Finnish Environment Institute (known by its Finnish acronym SYKE) in Helsinki. She will represent the data and information sector. SYKE is Finland’s national center for environmental research and development. SYKE produces data on the state of the environment in Finland, including significant environmental trends and develops solutions to promote sustainable development. Sirpa Pellinen is experienced in external communication. She works with the Finnish media on environmental issues. Especially she deals with communicating climate change and environmental policy.

Jiri Sironen
Jiri Sironen is the area Coordinator of the Citizens Service Department. He is working closely with the young citizens through the City’s Youth Council and District Committees and he facilitates citizens’ input to their leaders.
